The ECU has a resolution of 1/5RPM and its DAQ units have a sampling rate of around 500K samples/s, or 0.000002s Break out a conzult and datalog your injector pulsewidth - you can see the ECU goes all the way down to the ten-thousandths of a millisecond in its own calculation.
